Progression of an artist- convo with coner -

Practical

There comes a time when every adventure must change the course of time. In the next few months I am taking my photography on the road and will share with you my stories; fiction and non, from airports, bus depots, hotels, back alleys, parking lots and rest areas.

I am comfortable shooting in the studio and it is time to take chances. Thus, I can only carry so much gear. I will trade studio strobes for natural light, constant studio LED's for practical light bulbs: you’ll be able to see what I see, street lights at the far end of a passage, a fragmented shadow casting light from a broken shade.

In preparation of this series of trips I am practicing with travel gear and things that will be available to the project on site. The following video is an example: shot with two 60w light bulbs and a Canon M50.

Moving outside the studio not only liberates me from the confines of four walls and modern equipment, it frees my mind to explore, dabble, and play. I invite you along on my journey … through the lens of my camera.
