East German AK47 Bayonet 5998
The young boy first laid eyes on a bayonet during Boy Scouts show and tell, it was strong and told many stories under the glint of the campfire
After much dreaming about that piece of metal, at the age of 13 the young boy took the money he saved from his paper route to the military surplus store and bought his own bayonet
There were many years spent tending his own campfires and digging in the dirt, carrying that bayonet proudly next to him, it took up residence in his pack and had a prominent spot in all his trips
One day he honed the edge, grinding and polishing the bayonet over the stone, its meaning twisted and turned in his mind
And with bayonet in hand, he started on a new path
